My
Story
My name is Stephanie. I am a survivor of childhood sexual-exploitation. (Age 9-17)

I believe that what happens to us is not our identity. What happens to us does not indicate limitations to our potential. It is simply a snapshot in a sentence captured within a chapter of life.

A paragraph from the writings of Brother Lawrence inspired my work in coaching and art.

Noticing a tree, stripped of its leaves in winter, he envisioned the promise of new leaves to come and the hope of flowers and fruit.

We have the capacity to envision a future full of promise.

In 2002 I began an apprenticeship in neurodevelopment, to work with my young son, diagnosed with autism. Sharing my story with others led to mentoring survivors with Traffick Refuge, prisoners, reentry organizations and sobriety houses.

I serve my community by providing training in neurodevelopment and trauma-response for victim service providers, first responders and the Department of Corrections.
